In 2024, my husband created a one-man show dedicated to John Chapman or Johnny Appleseed, whose tombstone reads " He lived for Others."​ These apple paintings were  inspired by his work and by his life as a Swedenborgian a spiritual life that includes the importance of living a life of integrity, kindness and the inner meaning of spirituality. He planted gnarly apples that were used to make cider. He was the  Dyonisius of the frontier planting trees in parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, West Virginia and parts of Ontario,
