​At the end of a painting session, I often find a palette of colors too rich to throw away.  I take a paint scraper and move it across my pallet to let the paint tell me what it wants to say.  Sometimes the act of suspending my consciousness leads to new work, complete without additional marks, other times these grand gestures lead to new ideas and new ways to explore color and space.
